CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians are relying on rookies in their drive to stay in playoff contention. Authentic Brandon Knight Jersey . That is just fine with manager Terry Francona. Jose Ramirez, one of several rookies who are getting significant playing time, drove in the winning run with a ninth-inning single that lifted the Indians to a 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. "Thats a fun way to play," Francona said. "We had some youth out there, and were seeing what they can do." Rookies Tyler Holt and Roberto Perez also had a hand in the winning rally. Holt, pinch-hitting for Chris Dickerson, started the inning with a single off Jake Buchanan (1-3). After Perez moved Holt to second with a sacrifice, Michael Bourn walked. Buchanans wild pitch moved the runners to second and third before Ramirez, who doubled and scored in the third, lined a 3-2 pitch past third base. "I was trying to put the ball in play, trying to make contact," Ramirez said through Perez, who served as his interpreter. "Thank God Im taking advantage of the opportunity the Indians are giving me. Im just trying to get the most out of it." Injuries are a major reason why the Indians have turned to their rookies. Designated hitter Nick Swisher is out for the season after surgery on both knees. Outfielder David Murphy likely wont return until late September because of a strained oblique, and Bourn has been on the disabled list twice with a hamstring injury. "To us, it feels amazing," said Perez, who has started the last two games because Yan Gomes is out with a concussion. "These guys played at Triple-A with me. It just awesome to see their success. Its just awesome to be part of this team, and with them, too." The Indians have 10 walk-off wins this season. Cody Allen (5-3) struck out two in a perfect ninth as four pitchers held Houston to three hits. "We had a good streak offensively where we were scoring a lot of runs and swinging the bats well but weve had a couple of games here where we havent swung the bats well," Astros manager Bo Porter said. Danny Salazar continued Clevelands run of impressive starting pitching, allowing two runs with seven strikeouts in six innings. The starters have posted a 1.85 ERA (15 earned runs in 73 innings) in 12 games since Aug. 9. The Indians (65-63) have won eight of 12. Jose Altuves RBI single and Dickersons throwing error -- Clevelands 100th miscue of the season -- helped Houston score twice in the third. Michael Brantley snapped an 0-for-15 slump with an RBI single in the third. Bourn tied it with an RBI groundout in the fourth. NO DEFENDING THIS Two errors led to four unearned runs in the ninth inning on Friday, and the Indians hit the century mark Saturday. "Its added up to too many errors," Francona said. "It makes it difficult for us. Theres no getting around it." Cleveland committed 98 errors last season when it made the playoffs. ROSTER NEWS C Chris Gimenez was acquired by the Indians from Texas for future considerations. OF Ryan Raburn (sore right wrist) started a rehab assignment at Triple-A Columbus on Saturday. Francona said DH Jason Giambi (sore left knee) will likely start a rehab assignment next week. TRAINERS ROOM Astros: Porter isnt sure if RHP Brad Peacock (sore forearm) will make his next start. Peacock was removed Friday after five innings. His scheduled day to pitch is Wednesday against Oakland. Indians: Gomes was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list. He was hit on the mask by a pitch Thursday and is still experiencing concussion symptoms. UP NEXT Astros: LHP Brett Oberholtzer (4-8) will make his third career appearance against the Indians. Houston has won six of his last seven starts. Indians: RHP Trevor Bauer (4-7) has battled consistency all season. He allowed five runs in the first inning in two of his last three starts. Bauer took a no-hitter into the sixth inning in the other outing. Wholesale Suns Jerseys Authentic . Raonic, the No. 8 seed from Thornhill, Ont., fired 11 aces and did not have a double-fault as he comfortably advanced to the third round at the Masters Series event. Authentic Shaquille O’Neal Jersey . - On the night Dirk Nowitzki overtook Dominique Wilkins on the career scoring list, Brandan Wright was a human highlight film all by himself. http://www.cheapsunsjerseysauthentic.com/?tag=authentic-penny-hardaway-jersey . The day began ominously for the Rangers when star pitcher Yu Darvish was scratched from his scheduled start with stiffness in his neck. Fill-in Scott Baker gave up three hits over six innings and Chris Gimenez hit a tiebreaking two-out RBI single in the sixth off Phil Hughes.MILWAUKEE -- Brandon Kozun finally got a few pucks to bounce his way. Kozun scored two goals and assisted on another while Drew MacIntyre stopped 27 shots as the Marlies topped the host Milwaukee Admirals 5-2 on Saturday in American Hockey League playoff action. Toronto now leads the best-of-five first-round series 2-0. "Its nice (to have the puck go in), but its nicer to get the win," said Kozun. "Were up 2-0 now. Milwaukees played well and given us all we can handle. Now we go back to Toronto and try to finish it." Including the regular season, Kozun had gone 15 games without a goal, registering just one assist. "We knew he would break out at some point," said Marlies head coach Steve Spott, "And in a game like tonight where we werent that tidy, it was great to have him break out and get a couple of big goals for us." Sam Carrick, Korbinian Holzer and Jerry DAmigo also scored for Toronto, which registered three power-play goals on eight opportunities while killing off all seven of Milwaukees chances with the man advantage. Calle Jarnkrok and Bryan Rodney scored for the Admirals, who face the daunting task of needing to win three straight, all in Toronto. Kozun hit the crossbar early in the game, but he broke through at 18:51 of the first period to give Toronto a 1-0 lead. Kozun fired a low wrister from the top of the left circle that found its way through traffic past Milwaukee goalie Marek Mazanec, who never saw it. Carrick made it 2-0 at 8:07 of the second with his third goal of the series, scoring during a two-man advantage. Carrick was all alone at the left post and took a pass from Trevor Smith straight across the goalmouth. Milwaukee had committed four penalties in a span of three minutes 15 seconds to set up that opportunity. The Admirals finally got on the board in the first minute of the third period. Jarnkrok beat MacIntyre from inside the top of the right circle off a faceoff 53 seconds in. Stitched Suns Jerseys Online. . Milwaukee had life, and another opportunity came their way when Toronto defenceman Dylan Yeo went to the box for four minutes on high-sticking call just two minutes later. But the Marlies killed off all four minutes with little trouble, then added an insurance goal on another power play. Mazanec stopped the initial shot by Holzer, but lost sight of the puck between his legs and Kozun poked it in at 11:31. Holzer added a third power-play goal for the Marlies at 17:21. Rodney scored for Milwaukee with 1:06 remaining before DAmigo added an empty-net goal with 39.5 seconds left. "I think special teams are always a huge part of success in the playoffs," said Holzer. "All the guys sacrificed and we had (MacIntyre) standing on his head. It was a great effort by the whole team -- by every killer out there and the guys on the bench cheering guys on after they blocked shots. Its a whole-team effort and something to be proud of." "Our power play the entire game -- the entire series so far -- has been very average," said Milwaukee head coach Dean Evason. "We definitely have to be better for sure." MacIntyre stopped all 15 first-period shots from Milwaukee, then stoned Colton Sissons on a point-blank shot from just outside the right post a little over a minute into the second. Game 3 is Thursday, May 1 in Toronto. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, would be Saturday and Sunday. Milwaukee has never come back from a 0-2 playoff deficit. "If were the first team, that would be awesome," said Evason. "Why not? You just look back to last year, we won three in a row to get into the playoffs by one point. Weve got a group that all year has talked about one game at a time. We play on Thursday. When the puck is dropped, well play hard and see where we sit at the end of the night." cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '
