NEWARK, N. Custom Nike Baseball Jerseys Online .J. -- It didnt take Claude Giroux long to get over being left off the Canadian Olympic hockey team. Hours after getting the disappointing news that he would not be going to Sochi, Giroux woke up the road-weary Flyers with a power-play goal and Brayden Schenn scored the game-winner at 1:50 of overtime as Philadelphia beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 Tuesday night after giving up a late short-handed goal that forced the extra session. "I mean, yeah, anytime someone takes something away from you, you want to prove them wrong," Giroux said after the Flyers finished off a 5-1 road trip with their second straight come-from-behind win. "But you know what? I put that behind me. I just have to move on here. Just play my game. Its a fun game out there. ... Im not going to stress myself with that." The 25-year-old Flyers captain seemed to have a good chance to make the Canadian team. He had 12 goals and 26 assists coming into the game and was playing good hockey. It wasnt good enough. "Well, you know Ive kind of accepted that Im not going to be on the team. Thats fine," said Giroux, who has eight goals and 11 assists in his last 13 games. "There are a lot of good players out there. It cant be an easy job for them to pick all those players, so right now Im just worried about the Flyers and keep winning games." Scott Hartnell also scored for Philadelphia and Ray Emery made 31 saves to win for the eighth time in nine games. Michael Ryder tied it at 2 on a short-handed goal with 30 seconds left in regulation. It came on a great feed from defenceman Marek Zidlicky, with goalie Martin Brodeur on the bench for an extra skater. Adam Henrique also scored for New Jersey, which is 0-2-1 in its last three games. Schenns game-winner was set up by a great back-door pass by defenceman Nicklas Grossman from the left point. He saw Schenn moving down the right side and found the centre in the right circle for a shot that beat Brodeur, who had 25 saves. Brodeur had made a close-in save on Schenn on a late power play to keep New Jersey in the game. However, Schenn, who was cut across the stomach with a skate earlier in the game, got his revenge when he took a pass from Grossmann that Brodeur didnt think the defenceman was capable of making. "Its kind of mind-boggling a little bit because we are better than what the results on the ice are," Brodeur said. Giroux tied it 1-all with a power-play goal at 5:18. Hartnell, who has points in eight straight games, gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead with a shot from the left circle on a quick counterattack. The Devils chances of tying the game seemed dim when Travis Zajac high-sticked Giroux with less than 2 minutes to play, but they found a way. "I thought Giroux played an outstanding game, from start to finish," Flyers coach Craig Berube said. "I thought he was physical, competed and did everything possible out there." The Flyers were unable to capitalize on a 1:44 power-play advantage at the start of the third period, but they didnt fail when Devils defenceman Mark Fayne was called for interference at 4:27. Less than a minute into the extra-man advantage, Giroux rifled a shot from the top of the left circle that beat Brodeur into the top corner of the net. The goalie may not have had a good view of the shot with Hartnell and Wayne Simmonds screening him. It was Girouxs 13th of the season and it gave him a team-high 39 points. Hartnell made the breakout pass out of the Flyers zone to Schenn and he hustled up the ice to take a return pass that he quickly put into the net for his 10th goal. The Devils took a 1-0 lead in the opening minute of the game on a great individual effort by Jaromir Jagr. He skated around a Flyers defenceman in the right circle and centred the puck across the crease. It tipped Ryan Clowes stick, and Henrique came out from behind the net to tap it in for his fourth goal in six games. The point was the 1,723rd of Jagrs career, tying him with former Pittsburgh Penguins teammate Mario Lemieux for seventh in NHL history. Devils coach Pete DeBoer said it was the second straight game in which his team outplayed an opponent and came up short because it failed to take advantage of scoring chances. "Its frustrating because we are not getting rewarded for the effort," DeBoer said. NOTES: When the Flyers play Montreal on Wednesday, it will be their first home game since Dec. 23. They have won nine straight at Wells Fargo Center. Their last loss was 3-0 to Brodeur and the Devils. ... Michael Raffl returned to the Flyers lineup after missing two games with a concussion. ... Grossmann had two assists, giving him his second multipoint performance in 427 career NHL games. Custom Nike St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys . The people spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet complete. Schaub must still pass a physical in order to finalize the trade. ESPN first reported the trade and said the Raiders would give up a late-round pick in this years draft for Schaub. Schaub was Houstons starter from 2007 until last season, when he was benched in favour of Case Keenum after a terrible start to the year. The Texans were expected to contend for a Super Bowl last season, but instead became the NFLs worst team, sinking to 2-14, which tied the worst record in franchise history. It was clear after last season that Schaub didnt have a future in Houston, but his departure looked to be imminent on Thursday night when the Texans signed veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Houston also has the first overall pick in this years draft, which includes top quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel. The pending acquisition of Schaub is the latest attempt by general manager Reggie McKenzie to find a quarterback to lead the Raiders back into relevance after 11 straight years without a winning record or playoff berth. Since dumping Carson Palmer last spring, McKenzie traded a 2014 fifth-round pick for Matt Flynn before cutting him early last season; spent a fourth-rounder last year on Tyler Wilson before losing him off the practice squad to Tennessee; and signed Matt McGloin as an undrafted free agent. McGloin showed flashes in his six starts last season but is viewed more as a potential backup than a starter. The only other quarterbacks on Oaklands roster are Terrelle Pryor, whose running style does not fit what the coaching staff wants to do offensively, and veteran Trent Edwards, who was signed earlier this off-season. The move puts less pressure on Oakland to use a high drraft pick on a quarterback in May. Custom Nike Seattle Mariners Jerseys. The Raiders pick fifth overall in the draft but could use that selection to fill another hole. With loads of salary cap room to start the league year, the Raiders have targeted veterans with only one of their acquisitions younger than 29. That appears to be part of an effort to turn the team around quickly. McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen oversaw back-to-back four-win seasons since arriving in Oakland and owner Mark Davis is running out of patience with this regime. They are hoping last year was an aberration for Schaub. While the Texans had plenty of problems, Schaubs poor play was perhaps the biggest. The Texans won their first two games before Schaub began to struggle and he threw six interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns in the next three games. He started the sixth game of the season and left with an injury before being replaced in the starting lineup by Keenum, an undrafted free agent who spent 2012 on the practice squad. Keenum was injured late in the season, forcing Houston to go back to Schaub for the last two games. He didnt fare any better than he had before he was benched and he threw four interceptions combined in the last two games as Houston wrapped up the season with a 14-game skid. The 32-year-old is a two-time Pro Bowler, who last made the game in 2012. He had been solid for the Texans since taking over the job after being traded from Atlanta in 2007, but his best seasons came in 2009 and 2012 when he started each game. In 2009, he led the NFL in yards passing (4,770), completions (396) and attempts (583) and was fifth in touchdown passes (29). In 2012, he threw for 4,008 yards with 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions to help Houston to its second straight AFC South title. He spent three seasons with the Falcons as Michael Vicks backup before joining the Texans, and has thrown for more than 24,000 yards with 130 touchdowns in his 10-year career.
