BARCELONA, Spain -- Barcelona and Atletico Madrid both stumbled to draws on Sunday, tightening the Spanish league title race with Real Madrid now only one point behind the co-leaders. Cheap Shoes From China . Barcelonas potent attack led by Lionel Messi was held 1-1 at Levante, leaving the door open for Atletico to later claim sole possession of the league lead. But Atletico conceded a second-half penalty at home against Sevilla to also finish 1-1 and squander its chance to rise to the sole lead in the standings for the first time since September 2010. "We had a good opportunity, but this is a long race," said Atletico defender Filipe Luis. "Its very difficult to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona." Madrid trailed the co-leaders by five points two rounds ago, but while it has kept on winning-- most recently with a 5-0 rout of bottom-side Real Betis on Saturday-- Barcelona and Atletico drew with one another last round and have slipped again just past the seasons midway mark. Levante went ahead through Loukas Vyntras 10th-minute header, and its staunch defence did enough to take a measure of vengeance for the 7-0 thrashing Barcelona dealt the team in the season opener. Gerard Pique levelled for Barcelona in the 19th, but Levante defender Juanfran Garcia saved the visitors two best chances in the second half. "We were unlucky because we created scoring chances," Messi said. "We did everything possible to win." Elsewhere, striker Ikechukwu Uche scored his sixth goal in his last three league games to help Villarreal beat Almeria 2-0, while Getafe erased a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw at home with Real Sociedad. Far from the side that Barcelona humiliated in August, Levante lived up to its reputation as one of the leagues best defences by packing its area and largely limiting the visitors to long strikes that either crashed into bodies or sailed harmlessly wide. Joaquin Caparros side claimed the early lead when Vyntra rose up over Pique to head Andreas Ivanschitzs corner kick down and beyond the diving goalkeeper Victor Valdes. Pique made up for his slack marking by scoring an almost exact replica of the opener, jumping higher than a pair of defenders to redirect Xavi Hernandezs corner inside the far post. Messi, in his fourth game back after a long injury layoff, worked a one-two passing combination in close quarters with Cesc Fabregas to manufacture Barcelonas best chance in the 59th, but goalkeeper Keylor Navas saved Messis shot. Garcia was well positioned to block Xavis follow-up attempt, and three minutes later the centre back used his foot to turn away Messis goal-bound strike. Barcelonas frustrating night was summed up when Fabregas violently struck the dugout cover after coach Gerardo Martino replaced him with Sergio Roberto in the 73rd. With Neymar and Andres Iniesta both unavailable due to injury, Martino turned to Cristian Tello and B-team forward Jean Dongou as late substitutes. But Navas palmed Tellos late attempt wide to protect the point. "In our first meeting (with Barcelona) it felt like a tribute game to Neymar in his debut," Caparros said. "My team has changed a lot because you cant make a team in a day, not even in two or four months." Atletico started brightly when David Villa rifled in a clearance by Sevilla goalkeeper Antonio "Beto" Bastos in the 18th at Vicente Calderon Stadium. But Atletico didnt seriously threaten to extend its advantage and it was undone when defender Juanfran Torres pulled Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca down by his shirt in the area. Ivan Rakitic fired the spot kick into the corner of the net, just out of the reach of goalie Thibaut Courtois for the 73rd-minute equalizer. Sevilla finished with 10 men when Alberto Moreno was sent off with a straight red card for a low tackle in the 89th. "The draw is a pity," Courtois said. "We knew Barcelonas result before the game. Its too bad. When you go up 1-0 you hope to keep a clean sheet and win the match. Its tough, but thats the way it is." Uches strike against lowly Almeria was his 12th league goal this season, tying him with Sociedads Antoine Griezmann as the competitions third-leading scorers. Villarreal provisionally moved into fourth place with its third straight victory. Athletic Bilbao can reclaim Spains last Champions League spot when it plays Valladolid on Monday. China Shoes Nike . Charlottetown scored four times in the third period en route to a 5-2 win over the defending champion Halifax Mooseheads on Friday. China Shoes Cheap . The league announced Thursday that Tom Higgins is leaving that post effective immediately. https://www.chinashoesshop.com/ . Lowry and the Raptors officially announced a four-year US$48 million dollar deal Thursday. The deal was reported last week but couldnt be made official until Thursday, when the moratorium on signings was lifted. "They were real factors. I did my homework. SOCHI – Just to prove theyre not always inseparable, Anaheim Ducks Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry were about 175 feet apart as the Canadian mens Olympic hockey team wrapped up its practice on Wednesday. Perry was down in one end, working on his stickhandling, deftly displaying his soft hands as he manoeuvred a puck through a jumble of other pucks. Getzlaf was standing in front of the crease in the other end, showing off his eye-hand coordination as he deflected in shots from the point. Soon afterwards, however, the two of them walked back together to the Athletes Village and chatted about Canadas Olympic tournament opener against Norway on Thursday (Noon, ET). Getzlaf and Perry were side by side. Now thats a scene familiar to their Ducks teammates. Thats why theyre called the twins in Anaheim. "We just hit it off early in our careers," Perry said, in explaining why Getzlaf to Perry has become a common refrain for NHL play-by-play men since they busted on the scene together back in October 2005. "Weve become close off the ice and I think thats why weve been so good for each other on the ice. Hes the guy who makes plays and carries the puck. Im more of an up-and-down player who goes to the net. Someone has to go to the net." Championship combo That combination has produced a Stanley Cup championship in 2006-07, an Olympic gold in Vancouver four years ago, Rocket Richard Trophy and Hart Trophy for Perry in 2010-11, and who knows what will happen in Sochi. On the road, there arent many times Getzlaf and Perry are apart. They sit together on buses and planes, at team dinners and beside each other in the Ducks dressing room. They get along like brothers and that means they occasionally get sick of each other, too. "Thats why we go our separate ways at home and dont see much of each other," Perry said with a chuckle. "He has a family. So we know this a good time to give each other space." Getzlaf was born in Regina on May 10, 1985, and six days later Perry arrived into the world in Peterborough, Ont. Neither recalls the first time they met each other, but it was back in 2002 at the CCanadian under-18 summer camp. China Shoes Wholesale. Perry made the team, scored five times in five games and helped Canada win the old Eight Nations Cup. Getzlaf was left at home. The following spring, it was Getzlaf who played for Canada and won gold at the under-18 world championship while Perry was busy with the London Knights playoff drive. But they would meet again at the 2003 NHL entry draft in Nashville. The Ducks selected Getzlaf 19th, and then snatched Perry with the 28th overall selection. "Thats the first time I remember meeting [Perry]," Getzlaf recalled. "We met later that evening. But we didnt talk that much." Friendship takes off The talk picked up after that. They went to the Ducks training camp in 2003, the Canadian world junior summer camp in Calgary in 2004. They both made that team, but they played on different lines. Perry was with Sidney Crosby and Patrice Bergeron. Getzlaf played between Andrew Ladd and Jeff Carter. "Id say that was when we really got to know each other and the friendship started to take off," Perry said. "We were both Anaheim draft picks and we started to hang out more with each other." A few months after Getzlaf and Perry celebrated world junior gold together, Perry went on to win the Memorial Cup in London and Getzlaf would get an early start on his pro career with a 10-game stint in the AHL Calder Cup playoffs with the Ducks farm club in Cincinnati. It was at the Ducks training camp in 2005 that Getzlaf and Perry immediately were paired together and have had Frick and Frack relationship ever since. Expectations high in Sochi The expectations are high for Getzlaf and Perry in Sochi and their new linemate, Patrick Marleau of the San Jose Sharks. The Ducks have been one of the best clubs through 60 games because of the twins play. With 29 goals and 67 points in 56 games, Getzlaf hit the Olympic break second in the Art Ross Trophy scoring race, 11 points behind Sidney Crosby. Perry is third in the league in goals scored with 30. "Were having a good season and obviously it would be nice to continue that over here," Perry said. ' ' '
